Griffins football plays key role for new restaurant

A new restaurant in Greensburg, Perry’s Pub & Grill, is located on East Otterman Street, the former Baggy Knee location, and has been open for three weeks. Perry’s is currently featuring a limited menu of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, soups, wings and drinks. Daily lunch specials are usually priced at $5.95 and come with a soup of the day. A full menu is to be finalized on September 17, as tentatively scheduled. The full menu will include traditional Italian meals such as spaghetti and ravioli, as well as a variety of fish dishes and other entrees.
Perry’s Pub and Grill choose their location in Greensburg because of Seton Hill University’s (SHU) downtown project and football team. The construction of the University Center for the Performing Arts is creating a buzz and a strong economic market for new business owners.

The football team will allow for a new market, particularly after the games. In support of Griffin’s football, Perry’s uses placemats that features their 2007 schedule.
After visiting Perry’s Pub and Grill, I do have some suggestions. For starters, I recommend the fried zucchini. Five golden planks of zucchini are served garnished with parmesan cheese and parsley along with a bowl of homemade spaghetti sauce. Of the many restaurants where I’ve tried the appetizer, Perry’s has the second-best fried zucchini.
I would also recommend the meatball sandwich. The eight-inch bun is grilled and lightly buttered to allow for a crunchy bite every time. Four meatballs are smothered in the homemade spaghetti sauce and melted cheese – enough for leftovers the next day.
If you can handle the heat or need to clear your sinuses, the stuffed banana peppers are a great bet.
Whether you are hungry at lunch, dinner or after a Griffin football game, try Perry’s Pub & Grill and tell them Katie sent you!
