The caged bird sparks the imagination

First there were six: Max, Matthew, Ozymandias, Icarus, Peter, and Wendy. Six extraordinary children trying to live ordinary lives. Six children, created with both human and bird embryos. They were quite the sight for the sore eyes of a bustling Rocky Mountain town. Six children whose unique body composition, extravagant wings, and curious pasts left them to the mercy of the media. Six children who quickly realized that their parents were not the only ones who thought they were special.

James Patterson has done it again by producing a full throttle suspense novel titled The Lake House. Instead of a gradual page turner, Patterson decides to immediately throw us into the conflict. He introduces us to Dr. Ethan Kane, the father of a mysterious program called “Resurrection.”

The program’s main goal is to strip the body cavities of the young, and replace them in the bodies of influential people who have passed. A sexist man who is looking to prolong male life. A deranged man whose main ingredients are missing: strength, durability, extraordinary intelligence, and wings. A sinister man who needs the children to complete his life’s work.

Already oppressed by the insanity of others, the children have experienced captivity, abuse, scientific testing, and molestation. Max, the leader and the most intelligent of the children, first heard of the project while in isolation. Should she warn the others of potential danger? Are her creators in trouble as well? Do they know too much for their own good? Everyone she loves and cares about is in danger, but if ‘you talk, you die.’

Join the children in a fast paced novel that explores the insanity of man, and the importance of sticking together as a family. See the plot unfold as threats are made, shots are fired, and bodies go missing. Walk into the dream like state of Dr. Ethan Kane’s surgery room and live your greatest memory before your heart beat stops forever. Fly to the greatest heights of your imagination and fall to the deepest depths of hell.
