Christmas on the Hill excites students

Christmas on the Hill has been a Seton Hill University (SHU) tradition for over 35 years. For the freshman and new transfer students, there is much curiosity about the event.

Darren Achtezhn, the food service director, and the rest of the food service department, have given a lot of consideration in creating the event for the past 15 years. “It’s all about the ‘wow’ and the space,” said Achtezhn.

Stories and descriptions of magnificent decorations have become one of the most recent topics of discussion all over campus and it has freshman, as well as the rest of the student body, buzzing.

“I can’t wait to go to my first Christmas on the Hill! I’ve been hearing so much about Christmas on the Hill and it sounds like it will be a night to remember,” said Abigail Hoffman, a freshman.

“It’s so much fun to be able to get dressed up and have a formal night to look forward to every year,” said junior Ali Thompson.
Christmas on the Hill consists of a semi-formal dinner followed by mass, and a dance.
This year Christmas on the Hill will be held on Saturday, December 6th with doors opening at 6 p.m.

The seating for dinner will be located in both the Greensburg Room and Lowe Dining Hall, so there will be no worries about whether or not enough space and tables will be provided.
