Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Pavilion entertains masses this summer

Although people all across America are suffering from the economic stresses of today, Pittsburgh’s Post-Gazette Pavilion (PPGP) has put together a summer music line up that’s bursting with talent and energy.

Although people all across America are suffering from the economic stresses of today, Pittsburgh’s Post-Gazette Pavilion (PPGP) has put together a summer music line up that’s bursting with talent and energy.

Put your stresses aside for a night and check out some of the concerts in the local Pittsburgh area! Here is a short list with dates and performers. The spread is astounding and has something to satisfy every music lover!

Thursday, June 18— Phish—the band reunites for a summer tour and dedicated fans are thrilled! The American rock band is well known for their exploration between musical genres!

Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20—Dave Matthews Band with The Hold Steady—stops by Pittsburgh on their annual summer-long tour bringing us their unique sound and maybe a look into their newest album, Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.

Tuesday, June 23—Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band—Parrothead’s from all over will be flocking to see Buffett and the Reefers perform their famous beach bum music. Talk about relaxing—it’s like a day in paradise.

Wednesday, June 24—Aerosmith with ZZ Top—a mixture of these two famous hard rock bands will be hard core fun! Be sure to check these 80’s bands out for some classics.

Tuesday, July 7—Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynryrd—the famous American rapper who incorporates blues, southern rock and country music into his songs joins forces with the infamous Lynyrd Skynryrd for a concert sure to please fans.

Wednesday, July 8—Vans Warped Tour—is a tour of music and extreme sports festival. The tour features multiple bands including Flogging Molly, The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath and many more!

Friday, July 10—Def Leppard with Poison and Cheap Trick—this phenomenal trio of bands is sure to burst an ear drum with their hard rock tunes. And when else will you see these three together!?

Saturday, July 18—Nickelback with Hinder, Papa Roach, and Saving Abel—
another great group of bands that is sure to entertain and please fans of rock music.
Saturday, July 25—George Strait with Blake Shelton and Julianne Hough—sure to please country fans of all ages! This trio of musicians is well worth a trip to PPGP.
Saturday, August 1—Marilyn Manson and Slayer—these metal rockers make their way to PPGP for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.

Thursday, August 8—Creed—this post-grunge band is reuniting for a summer tour and making their way to the PPGP just for our enjoyment.

Friday, August 14—Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy—these punk rockers are sure to stir up some fun at the PPGP to help draw an end to summer. Get your fun in while you can and why not with these guys?

Friday, August 28—Rascal Flatts with Darius Rucker—a part of American Living Unstoppable Tour presented by JCPenney. These country stars are sure to end the summer season with pleasing melody and the perfect de-stressor for going back to school!
