For the 2010-11 season, Seton Hill University’s (SHU’s) women’s softball team will be under the direction of new head coach Jennifer Patrick Swift.

Swift’s six years of prior coaching experience includes positions at Washington and Jefferson College (W&J), Chowan University (CU) in North Carolina, and most recently at York College (YC).

Since taking over, the first change Swift made was getting her players to prepare for the upcoming season mentally. “I want to change the mindset of the team. I want them to feel a demand for success,” Swift said.

Through her coaching this year, year, Swift hopes that her players will “…play with a greater respect and knowledge for the game. I also want them to respect any level of success but never feel completely satisfied.”

Swift has also set goals for herself as a coach in the beginning of her career at SHU. She hopes to “…build a winning tradition. Not one or two good seasons, but I want Seton Hill women’s softball to be consistently known as strong region competition.”
