Refresh your spring wardrobe with icy blue hues

For most of March, we encountered constantly changing weather, ranging from sunshine to snow to rain. However, winter seems to be almost over, and with spring just around the corner, it’s time to hang your unfashionably thick winter coat back in your closet.

Speaking of spring, many people celebrate the warm season with soft pastel colors every year. Do you remember Elsa’s dress from Disney’s “Frozen” or Lupita Nyong’o’s dress on the Oscars 2014 red carpet? The trendiest color for this spring is icy-toned blue just like their dresses. Pantone Incorporated, a company that decides which colors are most marketable for each season, picked placid blue as a color of spring 2014. Icy blue is clearer and lighter than just pastel blue.

For many celebrities such as Katy Perry and Dianna Agron, icy blue skirts, clutches, and heels were key to their outfit coordination during the Paris Fashion Week Spring 2014. Adding the hue to your nails, wearing icy blue accessories or rocking sunglasses with a monochrome style are some easy ways to imitate their style.

Pantone also reported the hues cayenne, freesia and celosia orange as other trendy colors for this spring. Fitting those warm color fashion items into your wardrobe is another good way to enjoy the season’s floral and sporty fashion themes.

For men’s fashion, this season’s colors are azure blue, purple haze and comfrey green in addition to placid blue. Men in the fashion world are wearing pink, blocked stripes and camo patterns this season as well. Incorporating those patterns with this season’s colors is a smart way to coordinate your style for the season. Patterned shirts or sneakers could be another cool way to accent your outfit with a pop of color.

Icy blue may sound chilly and mismatched for such a warm season, but it actually makes you feel refreshed, and you can enjoy the floral fashion by adding warm color accents.

Lastly, don’t forget to care your salt stained boots before putting them back in the shoe rack! You can remove the stain easily; wash with a one-to-one ratio solution of water and white vinegar for leather boots. For suede boots, rub them with the solution of one cup of water and one tablespoon of white vinegar.
