SHU CRU unveiled the new student section for the homecoming game.

Prior to the Homecoming football game, SHU CRU held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to unveil a new student section named The Lair. “We are competing in a new division, we have new coaches, new players…a new outlook,” said Katie Kincade, SHU CRU President. “Opening an official student section is the least SHU CRU can do to show support and appreciation for all the hard work being put into this season,” emphasized Kincade speaking on the importance and significance of this special unveiling.

On Oct. 4 SHU CRU plans to have a gold-out as well as a pink-out on Oct. 18 in support of breast cancer awareness, both with free t-shirt giveaways. Nov. 15 will close out the season with a Military Appreciation Night, where The Lair will be decked out in camo while cheering on our Griffins.

They have innovative student section themes, as listed above, for all the home football games, as well as ways for the fans to get pumped during basketball season with music, TV, food, refreshments and even costumes for students to wear to the games.

The club, run by juniors Kincade and Stephen Heberling, are always looking for help planning, organizing, and executing these events. It’s as simple as sending an email to shucru@setonhill.edu stating your name and major. SHU CRU is a club run by students, for students, whose goal is to build pride in being a Seton Hill Griffin.
