“Usually some people have political jokes for their costumes, and any big scandals that happened,” said Rackliff.

A new trend is best friends and couples costumes. People like to match their costume with their friends’ or significant other’s this year. Some examples are Ninja turtles or Elsa and Anna from Disney’s “Frozen” movie. These costumes incorporate themes of friendship found in children’s movies.

If you search “best friend costume” on Pinterest, you can see variety of other people’s Halloween costume ideas.

Face painting is a unique way to bring additional excitement to your costume and you can also match with your friend through face painting. Skull face painting is the most popular style among men and women.

“I’m hopefully going as Atlas. My friends are going be toga people, and I decided to be a Greek God,” said Rackliff.
