Christian Carter and Dipeeka Bastola were crowned homecoming king and queen during halftime at Seton Hill’s football game against Gannon University on Oct. 24.

“I feel grateful for everyone who has supported and encouraged me” said Bastola, after she was crowned. “It is my honor to be crowned queen.”

Bastola is a double major in accounting and international organization, and a minor in spanish. She also is a head resident assistant at Seton Hill. She is also president of the Multicultural and International Organization (MISO) club and member of Enactus as well as Student Ambassadors.

Carter is a sports management major with a business administration minor. He is a residence assistant, president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and member of the SHU football team.

“I am humbled to know that my fellow peers have selected me to represent Seton Hill in this capacity,” Carter said.

Chase Parker and Meghan Mastroianni, last year’s king and queen, attended Saturday’s game to pass down their titles. Mastroianna had a few words of advice for the new king and queen, as well as other members of the court. “Enjoy the whole experience to represent Seton Hill,” she said.

Other members of the court included Taylor Belcastro, Michele Mellick, Hayley Morgan, Raven Murphy, Kevin Gilles, Daryl Anderson, Dylan Everett and Kameron Taylor.

“Students selected for homecoming have been recognized by their faculty and peers for their dedication to the Seton Hill community,” said Belcastro, prior to the announcement of king and queen.

Homecoming court is part of a long-standing tradition at SHU. It is one of the many events taken place during Homecoming and Family Weekend.
