After finishing second in the conference last year, the men’s basketball team has high expectations for the 2004-05 season. After five preseason games with a record of 4-1, the team went into their first division game with high hopes. Their win of 94-70 set the pace for an exciting season.

Although they could not play their first big game in the new complex, the Griffins set the tone for the year. Were definitely expecting a full house when the complex is finished, said Zarko Kostic, sophomore.
The Griffins need to place in the top four in order to reach playoffs this year. A first place spot will grant them a bid to nationals in Missouri. Our goal is to win conference this year,” said Ido Givon, sophomore.
The men’s team has the talent and the experience to take the first spot in the conference. After last year’s success in only their first year, Coach Morocco is not changing his strategy.

DANIEL GEORGE ATTEMPTING TO GET THE BASKETBALL FOR HIS TEAMMATES

Jose Sanchez is a great addition to the team as a starting freshman, said Daniel George, junior, who was named All-Conference second team last year. The combination of experience and new talent will help us to win.
The All-Conference award is also held by sophomore Bojan Nikolavski, who also received Honorable Mention last year. Kostic and Nikolavski were named to the All-Freshmen team.
As usual, the biggest game of the year will be against St. Vincent. The men’s team will play against them twice, away on January 11, and home on February 1, hopefully in the new complex. We expect huge campus support for the St. Vincent games, said Naor Amiel, sophomore.
