Seton Hill University (SHU) has built up a great men’s basketball team. Just like any other team, they strive to succeed in everything they do. The team works hard and tries hard to stay motivated through it all.
But there’s one key player that stands out above the rest. Cody Boone, a six-foot-nine junior at SHU has made his way through many rebounds, shots and deflections over the years.
“I think this season is going to be a good one. The team is looking to build off of the success from late in the season last year,” said Boone.
The team is looking to win the WVIAC conference in both the regular season as well as playoffs. The team is also working hard to make it to the NCAA playoffs in their first year of eligibility.
Boone has his way of playing well, but it’s not his height. Although he is six-foot-nine, he works just as hard as any other team mate on the court, and off. His height is just a bonus, the difference being he doesn’t have to jump when the others do.
“I don’t like being tall all the time, it gets annoying hearing ‘How tall are you?’ everyday. It just allows me to get more rebounds and blocks than everyone else,” said Boone.
Boone is a great team player and works hard to get to where he needs to be. Jordan Thomas and Emmanuel Jackson are the team’s two senior leaders this year, and are relied on pretty heavily as well.
Some of the freshmen that will contribute to the team this year are Conor Tilow and Keith Cox. There are also two transfers that will be seeing significant time, Ivan Cosevic and Andy Ostach.
The team is looking forward to their first regular season game to start it all off. The game is against Boone’s twin brother’s team, Mansfield University. “We have had some good practices and everybody is excited to get the season under way,” said Boone.
