Hello Setonians,

It is that time of year again! Elections for all Student Government Class Officer Positions and Executive Board positions are right around the bend. If you are interested in holding a leadership position send your self-nomination to shga@setonhill.edu between Monday, March 22 and noon on Friday, March 26.

As the student member of the parking task force, whose members were selected by President JoAnne Boyle, and chaired by vice president for business affairs, Paul Roman, I am excited to announce the passing of the construction for a gated 300 space parking lot. It will be located below the Grotto Road and extend past the McKenna Recreation Center. On Monday, March 8, following a presentation by Roman to the board of trustees, the board voted to fund the installation that will begin as soon as the weather allows. When any further details become available, I will be sure to pass on them on.

Our second Sunday Night Leadership (SNL) will be held on Sunday, March 21 in A206. Our speaker, Ms. Jaimie Steel, will be discussing the steps to be taken when transitioning your organizations leadership from graduating seniors to underclassmen. As always, pizza will be served at 5 PM.

I would like to remind everyone of the drive that SHGA started in January. To support the foreign ministry of the Sisters of Charity at Caritas Christi, we will be aiding the Sisters in their collection of cancelled stamps. This includes all postage stamps (traditional, seasonal, foreign or commemorative) that you have received on any mail items. Just leave about ¼ of an inch or more around the stamps and drop them off in the envelope outside of the SHGA Office in Lowe 113. The stamps are sent to a dealer who then sells the stamps to collectors. The funds generated by the stamps are put towards the foreign ministry actions of the Sisters of Charity.

As always send all questions, comments, concerns or ideas to shga@setonhill.edu, or drop a note in our suggestion box located outside our office in Lowe 113. Don’t forget about our Facebook Fan Page! Add us to stay up to date on everything happening.

Thank you,
Katie
