Tiara Stossel, a sophomore guard for the Griffins, was awarded Player of the Week for the week ending February 5. After coming off of a five-game losing streak at the end of December, the Griffins have really come back in full force.
Stossel led the Griffins to two victories against Wheeling Jesuit and Glenville State. She was very excited to win this award being a
sophomore and coming off a huge win against #1 ranked team Glenville State with 29 points.
Stossel considers herself one of the leaders on the team.
“A Player of the Week winner must have all-around great performances in their sporting event for that week. For basketball, the player should not only have points, but also rebounds, assists and steals to lead their team to victory,” she said.
She will continue to play to the best of her ability and lead her team to more wins, and hopes to have a good playoff run.
