All through the month of December, I love watching the holiday movies being shown around the clock. It’s been an unspoken tradition in my house to watch these movies no matter how many times we’ve seen them. Every year we watch the classics: “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “The Year Without a Santa Claus” and more. Ever since I could remember, I’ve seen “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at least once a year if not more and I’ve seen “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” so many times, I can recite every line in the movie. I love watching these movies around Christmas because they remind me of happiness even if the situation isn’t perfect. We tend to be a little more forgiving of all the schmaltzy love and peace on Earth during December and it serves as a beacon of hope in the upcoming year. Christmas is about being with your friends and family and enjoying time together, so instead of being on the phone or Internet all day, sit down and relax for one night with those you love and enjoy the wonderful movies of the holidays.
