Letter to The Editor: April 2013

Dear Editor,

The Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse team expresses our deepest gratitude to the many amazing people who have helped us through this time of tragic loss and injury. Words cannot adequately express how much we miss our coach, Kristie Quigley. She was an incredibly talented mentor who had only the highest expectations for us on and off the field; we will continue to make sure her expectations are always met. There have been many angels disguised as ordinary people who helped us through these past weeks. We extend our sincere thanks to the first responders and travelers who helped us at the crash site; the hospital caregivers whose superb emergency medical care and skillful surgical techniques saved our limbs and our lives; our collegiate family across the country, who created and contributed to Play 4 Seton Hill; those who have worn crimson and gold in honor of our coach and displayed our jersey numbers on their arms; and everyone who is contributing to Gavin Quigley’s educational fundhttp://www.gofundme.com/2bt9g4; the Seton Hill athletes who have shown us that we truly are 21 teams but one family; and to Coach’s immediate family for sharing her with us during the last year and a half – she is forever in our hearts. For her, we will remain kia kaha (forever strong) and will always play in honor of her dedication to us and the sport we all love so dearly.

Sincerely,

The Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse team, Greensburg, Pa.
