TEDx is a program created by TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design), its goal being to form local, independently organized events in the spirit of TED. The TEDxSetonHillUniversity event will feature TEDTalks videos as well as live speakers.
Formed in 1984, TED is a nonprofit organization whose slogan is “Ideas Worth Spreading.” TED conferences feature lectures from “the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers”(Official TED Website).
“We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. So we’re building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world’s most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other,” is TED’s mission statement (Official TED website).
