Marvel Comics released its tenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy. It premiered in Hollywood on July 21 and came to theaters Aug. 1.
Aliens, action and lots of laughs pretty much sums it up. I’m a firm believer that you can never go wrong with a Marvel movie, but this flick went beyond my expectations with its offbeat characters and thrilling action scenes.
Guardians of the Galaxy is set in space light years away from Earth and follows the adventures of human Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his unlikely friends. In the beginning, Quill and other characters played by Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper find themselves in a feud over a powerful object capable of destroying their universe.
The five aliens later decide to band together to defeat the villain known as Ronan the Accuser who plans to use the object to massacre an entire race of aliens. Along the way, the group learns what it really is have friends and make sacrifices for them.
Guardians of the Galaxy grossed over $418 million worldwide and a sequel is scheduled for mid 2017.
