Lea Marra celebrated her CD release party April 24 at the 28 West Second Gallery in Greensburg. The Seton Hill University (SHU) music major recently released her first EP, “Heartbeat,” with the help of raising funds through Kickstarter.
The EP was recorded at The Pop Machine Recording Studios in Indianapolis, Indiana.
“It was crazy to see how many people are supportive of myself and my music. It really makes me feel loved by so many people who have helped me out to the max!” said Marra, senior.
At the CD release party, Marra performed alongside SHU graduate Brian Weaver and local Greensburg musician Brady Lazendorfer.
“Since the EP has come out I have had a lot of great feedback. Many of my friends already know the words to my songs which is weird but awesome at the same time! It is also weird to be in a car and they put my cd in to listen to it,” said Marra.
Marra played several gigs in Pittsburgh following the release of her EP, and hopes to play shows in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, when she returns home after graduating SHU in May.
“I am very excited for what comes next and for the support I have here at SHU. So thank you all who support my music and help me out in different ways,” Marra said.
