With the end of the school year and finals week approaching quickly, we have some amazing events coming your way. There is Midnight Bingo and Midnight Breakfast, the baseball team’s senior day, along with Griffin Community Days, the Sundae Bar, Cinco de Mayo, Pirates night at the park and many more events to help us get through finals week.
Midnight Bingo in Cecilian Hall is Friday, May 5 from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m., a biannual event held at the end of each semester as a fun competition to take our minds off of finals.
Midnight Breakfast in Lowe Dining Hall is Wednesday, May 9 from 10-11:59 p.m. A personal favorite of mine. It’s exactly what it sounds like; breakfast served to us right around midnight. This is also a biannual event. The earlier you get there, the better seat you can get.
Baseball Senior Day is Saturday, May 6 at the baseball field with games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. This is the last home game (and hopefully not the last game) of the regular season.
Griffin Community Days is on Sullivan Lawn Thursday, May 4 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Lunch and games on Sullivan and McKenna lawns; definitely a must!
The Ice Cream Sundae Bar will be in Boyle 162 on Thursday, May 4 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Who doesn’t like a good ice cream sundae? It’s a $2 charge per person and all proceeds benefit the Heifer International Group, whose mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty.
The Cinco de Mayo Celebration will be in Reeves 108 from 4:30-6 p.m. With food, fun and some great students, this event is hosted by the Spanish language students. There will be food, refreshments and music.
Pirates Night at PNC Park is Friday May 5 from 7 -11 p.m. It is a fireworks night, it’s definitely worth going to.
Millennial Movement, performed by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, is at the Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. on May 5 and at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 6 in the Reighart Theater (first theater when you walk in.)
Move Out Day is Friday, May 12, an all day event. This day is the last day to move out of dorms for the summer.
Graduation is Saturday, May 13 (standing room/volunteer room only due to amount of tickets per graduate).
Within the past few weeks, we have also celebrated some amazing events such as Farewell to Marilyn Fox Lewis, one of our campus ministers’ retirement party, Opera workshop’s performance, combined choirs concert and the senior art show at the Visual Arts Center.
