Monday night is a great night to get the spaghetti special at Legends Restaurant and Bar. It is a small blue building just at the end of Main Street in Greensburg, right before it turns into Route 119.
Legends has been around for a very long time and has been known by many different names, but it has always been known as a great place to find some fabulous food for the right price.
Every Monday night is spaghetti night, and the crowds flock in religiously to get their heaping portion of al dente pasta with perfectly seasoned sauce and savory meatballs with a generously sized piece of garlic toast on the side.
The restaurant is small, but the service is friendly and fast. It is very rare that you find yourself waiting for a seat.
I arrived with my boyfriend and sat down at an open table. The waitress came to greet us at the table almost immediately and checked to see if we were ready to order.
We informed her that we were waiting for my dad and ordered drinks and an appetizer, hot sausage stuffed peppers smothered in gooey mozzarella cheese, and red sauce.
My dad arrived shortly after we ordered and the waitress came by and joked around with us a bit. We all ordered the spaghetti special and I ordered a salad in addition to my meal, it was only an extra dollar!
We sat at the table joking around telling stories about how we used to come here when I was a little girl. The stuffed peppers arrived and left the table almost as fast. They had such great flavor, not too spicy, but just enough kick. The meals came shortly after.
I believe that the sauce here at Legends is some of the best spaghetti sauce I have ever had in Greensburg. The meatballs were perfectly seasoned and their flavor did not overpower the spaghetti.
This is a great dish to fill up on, especially on a cold winter night.
I recommend that if you go with your friends to plan to stay after dinner and play a little darts once youve finished your meal.
They have a nice bar area with lots of televisions so you can hang out and watch Monday night football if that’s your thing.
On this particular night, I had an itch for ice cream, so we hopped in our car and headed three traffic lights down the road and stopped at Baskin Robbins.
Legends hasn’tbeen recognized for its world-class cuisine, but it should be known for its relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and great home-style food with prices that any college student can afford.
