Seton Hill University’s (SHU) women’s soccer team has done well in the last few playoff seasons. However, to make a winning team even better, the coaches and teammates work on a specific way of practicing to help their chances.
“Both coach Lauris and I follow the Dutch style of training. Will Coerver is the biggest influence on us. We use his training methodology that focuses on skill learning through progression drills. We simply add fun, competition, and teamwork to it, and improve every day,” said coach John Fogle.
“I think we will have an extremely successful season. We started camp and everyone on the team is working hard and we all work really well together on and off the field. I think one thing we are doing differently this season is taking our camp and practices more seriously and we are all trying to get in shape and be ready for the upcoming season,” said Jaclyn Fawcett.
“Our expectations are high during our pre-season camp and we are working hard. We are targeting what we did not do well in last year and fixing them for this upcoming season,” said Jenna Forzano.
No matter what the cost is, the women’s soccer team is ready and determined to receive high honors in the playoffs this season.
“I am very excited for this season to get underway. We have a lot of potential and we should make it as far, if not farther, into the Jenna Forzanotournament as last year,” said Forzano.
“Our expectations for this season are to make the playoffs as we did last year and win it all. No team at SHU has won a WVIAC championship yet, and we would love to be the first,” said Fawcett.
With only losing one starting player, the team is not concerned with lack of contribution from the returning players and the new freshmen.
“We have a very strong returning lineup and added 4 additional freshmen plus a red-shirted sophomore. We have 4 returning seniors and a relatively young team so we are extremely excited for the success we will have,” said Forzano.
It will be a challenging season ahead for SHU women’s soccer team, but they have high expectations for another winning season.
