What do scarves, animals and gem tones all have in common? According to Katie Perkins, a sales associate at the Pittsburgh Mills Charlotte Russe, they’re all the rage this fall.
“It’s all about the slouchy-grungy or plaid and preppy this fall,” Perkins said. “Blazers, skinny jeans, leggings and smaller heels are all in.”
Colors make up a huge part of this year’s trends. Orange, peachy pinks, greens and various shades of blue all highlight the runway in the forms of jewelry, dresses and shoes.
Shoes are especially affordable at Charlotte Russe right now with their buy one, get one for $15 sale. But Charlotte Russe isn’t the only place around the mall to find a fall steal.
Old Navy is a gold mine for good sales. The store also ensures clothing for everyone with its wide variety of styles and designs. New coats and sweaters in an array of colors have just arrived. The sapphire blues and ruby reds that Perkins loves for the upcoming season have wormed their way into almost every style of jacket and dress the store sells.
Not only is fall fashion comfortable; it’s fun. “Sequins, glitz, neon,” Perkins said while smiling. “Add those with some thigh-high socks, and there’ll never be a dull moment.”
What if you want to toughen up a little bit? Not to worry – the military-chic trend has come back once again. Boots, khaki and olive drab all combine to create a cute yet structured look.
Do you want to revamp your fall wardrobe, but you’re strapped for cash? A few simple fixes can save you a few dollars:
• Match sleeveless tops with longer skirts.
• Summer dresses look great with a blazer or button up sweater.
• TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Plato’s Closet sell new and used clothing at discounted prices.
