Seton Hill University’s (SHU) E-Magnify group hosted the 11th annual E-Magnify “Building a World Class Business” conference held on Tuesday April 1 at the Hilton in Pittsburgh. This year’s theme for the conference was “The Power of Women, One and All.”
Each year, E-Magnify hosts a conference for different companies, business, and schools who wish to attend, said Shelly Weaver, the Marketing Communications Coordinator for E-Magnify at SHU.
This year there were two internationally known speakers at the conference this year. Sandra Yancey is the founder and CEO of eWomenNetwork. She is a networking expert who teaches others how to create relationships that harness great dividends. eWomenNetwork is the number one resource for connecting and promoting women and their businesses worldwide.
Marti Barletta, president of Trendsight, helps organizations gain knowledge about marketing to women. She is the author of the groundbreaking book, “Marketing to Women.”
These women along with several other speakers educated listeners with tips and tricks to forming a successful business. Topics included: Strategies for a Successful Mastermind Group: Dynamic Ways to Move Your Business Forward, Three of the Most Powerful Things You Can Do to Build Your Business, Globalizing your Website, Communicating with Power, Blogging and Other Online Tools and Power Up Your Business, and Wish-Want-Walk: Unlocking the Keys to More Powerful Negotiating, according to a brochure published by E-Magnify.
“Students find it beneficial to hear from the minds of successful female entrepreneurs and hopefully use the knowledge gained from such a learning experience to move forward in whatever they plan to do in the future. It is also great for juniors and seniors, who get the chance to market themselves to potential employers and develop contacts that may be of use for them in the near and distant future,” said Michael Rivera of E-Magnify.
For those students who are looking to start paving a business career path, the E-Magnify Conference can generate ideas for the future.
“For students who are unfamiliar, my advice would be to come out and experience it. This is the largest gathering of this type in this region and is a perfect place for students to gain valuable insights on the business world and all it has to offer,” said Rivera.
