For couples: Go somewhere new.
Going to a new restaurant can be both exciting and romantic. Taking in the atmosphere while trying new dishes is a great idea for a Valentine’s date. If you want to stay close, a new restaurant has opened in Greensburg. The Robokyo Japanese Steakhouse is located at 910 East Pittsburgh Street and features hibachi tables where they cook your meal right in front of you! For any new restaurant, I suggest you share two meals, that way you can have a sampling of different menu items.

Go to the city:
Nothing is more romantic that a special trip to Pittsburgh. Plan the night ahead of time and visit the many attractions the city has to offer. Depending on your preferences, the day should be planned around things you and your partner enjoy; hobbies, sports, entertainment, and dining. To make the evening even more romantic, take a ride on the Duquense incline to Mount Washington. The view from the top was rated the second most beautiful site in America by USA Weekend Magazine.
Make dinner from your special someone:
I honestly think there is nothing more romantic than cooking a special meal for your special someone. If you have the proper cooking utensils, the desire to cook, and the ability to prepare a fancy meal, go for it.
Plan a meal that shows you care and considered what your partner that likes. If you have concerns, make something simple. Even spaghetti will show your partner you took time from your busy schedule to make them dinner. Remember, the best way to someone’s heart is through their stomach!
Singles:
Valentine’s Day is not just for the couples, it can be for singles who want to show appreciation to their friends. One of the most fun nights my friends and I had was during a fondue night.
The word fondue is s French for fonde or to melt has been around for ages, It was first used in Switzerland as a method for using hardened cheese and gained popularity in the 1950s through 1970s. In the 1950s, meat began to be introduced followed by chocolate in the 1960s.
If a cheese fondue is your choice, you will need to choose a soft cheese and add apple juice or sparkling cider. This will lower the cheese’s boiling point so its proteins will not curdle and it will have a smooth texture. You can add your favorite spices to add more zest to the cheese. Breads, vegetables, crackers, fruits like apples, and pretzels go great with a cheese fondue.
If chocolate is your weakness, think about having a variety of fruits including strawberries, bananas, cherries, and pineapples as well as other treats like pound cake, cheesecake, brownies, pretzels and marshmallows.
