In my hometown we have a tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve. For my
family and most of the other families the gift is always new Christmas pajamas.
For as long as I can remember I looked forward to opening my gift because I would
wonder all day what the pajamas would look like. When I was little I hoped they
looked like a princess gown. I got pajamas that ranged from pink frilly nightgowns
with some kind of Barbie Christmas theme to red footie pajamas with skiing polar
bears. As I got older I received pajama pants and a comfy shirt that were either red
and green, or had a snowflake design. When the era of cameras on cell phones arose,
my friends and I would send each other pictures of our new pajama pants. After
getting dressed in our pajama pants my parents would either pack us into the car
and take us to see Christmas lights or we would snuggle up on the couch, drink hot
chocolate and watch a Christmas movie
