Let’s commemorate in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday! Join the Multicultural Awareness Task Force of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee on Feb. 2 from 11:10 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. in Cecilian Hall.
The theme this year is “Our Lives Begin to End the Day We Become Silent About Things That Matter,” which is a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event will open with students from the dance program as they include a presentation that matches the theme for this year.
There will be a panel of people in the community to answer questions, and students are encouraged to be engaged by asking questions and sharing their experiences. The adults will be speaking of their personal experiences and the importance of social justice.
Seton Hill University is committed to social justice, stopping the silence and standing up for social justice. As an adult, our voices are important, we have the power to make a change! Sharing experiences and learning ways to erase discrimination, prejudice and inequality are part of creating a better future for all.
